Description

:bulletpurple: TRUE FACTS:
· Beauty doesn't make a character a Mary Sue
· Big boobs don't make a character a Mary Sue
· A tragic past doesn't make a character a Mary Sue (as long as it's realistic/fits the story)
· Being a tomboy/girly girl doesn't make a character a Mary Sue (it's just kind of cliché)
· A sexy outfit doesn't make a character a Mary Sue (as long as it fits the fandom they belong to)
· Being paired-up with a canon character doesn't make a character a Mary Sue (as long as the story makes sense and the canon character doesn't go OOC)

:bulletpurple: Also, I'll quote *kiss-the-thunder's marvelous comment on her stamp ([link]) :

"A character being paired with a canon character does not a sue make. (the creator is just having fun)

A character that's pretty or even gorgeous does not a Sue make. (look at the characters flaws, they often time balance it all out)

A character that excels in one area does not a sue make. (Now if they excelled in MANY areas, that's different)

A chaotic love life does not a Sue make.

You can not tell a character is a Mary Sue just by looking at them.

Having one quality of a potential Sue does not a Sue make.

A character is not a Mary Sue just because you dislike them!"

I underlined that sentence because that seems to be something that many people can't understand: having different crushes throughout the years is completely normal and it's something that happens to most if not all girls in real life. If a character is a Mary Sue for having a few crushes throughout the story, then real girls are whores :|?
Of course, I DO NOT support flirting with two guys at the same time. Now, that's slutty.

^ Okay, that wasn't the point of this stamp, just something I needed to vent about ^^;.

:bulletpurple: Of course, if a character has ALL the features I named above, then it is somewhat a Mary Sue. Again, remember that if wearing a sexy outfit is totally normal in the fandom the character belongs to (like Pokémon because it's the only fandom I'm familiar with), then it isn't a Sue-ish feature. As for having big boobs... Some real girls have big tits, others don't. The same applies to anime.

:bulletpurple: A real Mary Sue is usually the most powerful and possess an unique power/ability (like an invincible bloodline in Naruto or having the power to understand pokémon or talking their lenguage in Pokémon. Mary Sues are often the center of attention of the story, too.

:bulletpurple: And don't forget: characters without some Sue-ish feature are plain and boring. As *kiss-the-thunder said, "Characters with little to no development, pass (Litmus test) with flying colors."

:bulletpurple: GIVE FAN CHARACTERS A CHANCE. Just because a character possesses one, two or even three Sue-ish feature there is NO need to bash it! Who knows if that certain character also has flaws and/or a well-developed story?

Yep. Lana (the pet loving kid) is considered a Mary Sue because she is a tomboy despite being a kid handyman.
